In Favor of Balance
In Favor of Balance
Life is a complicated activity with lots and tons of ways in which to improve your ability to live it with interest and satisfaction … or to inhibit your ability to slow the downward spirals that often riddle our efforts with strife and anxiety. The very wisest thing we can do for ourselves and the people in our immediate worlds, is strive for balance in all areas of our lives. Balance, as a philosophy is a productive way of savoring life’s joys and dealing with life’s disappointments. It’s a simple decision to make, but it certainly isn’t easy to achieve.
This site has been created to talk about Balance in living and ways in which to attain it. I do hope you’ll be willing to share.
Balancing Our Lives - One Day At A Time
Balancing Our Lives - One Day At A Time
The last two generations have been, and continue to be, programmed for immediate gratification and socio/economical production. These are dichotomist lifestyles, at best! This programming also impacts those of us from the third generation up who started out with the values and mores of our parents’ generation. The constant expectation of immediate gratification from all we do or from all that others do sets us up for far more failures and upsets than successes. Just a casual study of how the brain works, how information is collected, how thoughts are processed, how memories are retained, and the impact a healthy diet has on brain function will show anyone who cares to investigate, how self-defeating the immediate gratification thinking system is. If you’re a person who feels that she/he has risen above such things and stands separate and unaffected by those who haven’t – think again. We are pack animals and what one person does impacts his/her pack in one way or another. Every pack affects its neighboring packs. It’s the wonder of nature, baby! Get into it.
When I think about the intricacies of living, I am reminded of just how overwhelming it can be. Personally, I now choose to deal with it by taking life one bite at a time. Today’s bite deals with a simple act of helping another gain a sense of satisfaction. I’m calling it Female Camaraderie and you'll find it under the Forethought & Reflections tab.
